NICA – Infusion Center Location Tool
NICA’s Infusion Center Locator tool (locator.infusioncenter.org) has a new feature that will assist those impacted by the Hurricanes. They have incorporated a new feature allowing infusion providers to mark their facility as “Temporarily Closed” and include information they want to share with their patient population and locator users. This new feature allows the locator tool to reflect the operational capacity of the infusion delivery channel within impacted communities. My team is working to get, and stay, connected with centers in communities impacted by the hurricanes so we can accurately reflect the current operational capacity of the delivery channel.
Participation is free. We have manually entered almost 3,000 office-based Infusion Centers across all 50 states, including D.C. and Puerto Rico.
NORM members that operate infusion suites can claim their profile, allowing them to populate and manage the profile for their center. All they have to do is create a free user account, find their center, and click “claim”. Once verified and confirmed from our end, users can manage the profile behind a log-in firewall.
BMS
Our thoughts are with all members of the communities recently impacted by Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. As we have many patients and employees who live in the impacted areas, we deeply appreciate the commitment and tireless effort of community-based organizations towards immediate- and long-term recovery.
Bristol-Myers Squibb continues to be ready and willing to help our patients. If a patient taking a Bristol-Myers Squibb product* encounters a disruption in access to their prescription medication due to the storms, they should contact the Bristol-Myers Squibb Customer Information Center at 1-800-332-2056. Agents are standing by from 8 AM to 8PM EDT Monday through Friday and are eager to help find the Bristol-Myers Squibb programs that best address the patient’s individual needs.
To make sure that this information reaches our patients who may not know where to turn for help, we are sharing this information through many channels, including BMS.com and social media. If you know of patients that are impacted and who may need our help, we ask that you please share this information as appropriate.
The company has also donated over $10 million in BMS medicines to Americares and Direct Relief to help patients urgently in need of care. In addition, to help recovery efforts in communities impacted by Hurricane Harvey, the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation has given $250,000 in cash donations to the American Red Cross, Americares and Direct Relief. The Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation is also matching individual donations from Bristol-Myers Squibb employees to the relief efforts. The Company, the Foundation and our disaster relief partners are actively monitoring the situation in Texas to determine future ways to help and are monitoring the impact of Irma as it unfolds.
